Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Inbox by Alkmist (the "Service"), accessible at https://inbox.alkmist.com. They apply to all users of Inbox and supplement the broader Alkmist platform Terms of Service. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Introduction

Inbox by Alkmist is an AI-powered email intelligence platform operated by Alkmist ("Alkmist", "we", "our", or "us"). These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Alkmist. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and "you" refers to that organization.

2. Definitions

  • Inbox or the Service: the Alkmist email intelligence product accessible at inbox.alkmist.com, including all related features, APIs, and client applications.
  • User: any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Service.
  • Data: any information uploaded, stored, processed, or shared on or through the Service, including email content and metadata accessed via connected email providers.
  • Privacy Policy: the Privacy Policy governing how we collect and use your information, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to use Inbox. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you are legally able to enter into a binding contract.

4. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when you create an account.
  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for any activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us promptly at legal@alkmist.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

5. Services Provided

Inbox provides:

  • AI-assisted email triage, prioritization, and summarization of messages from your connected Google or Microsoft email accounts.
  • Tools to compose, schedule, and send replies through your connected email provider.
  • Calendar awareness and meeting context where you grant the relevant permissions.
  • Account settings to manage connected providers and revoke access at any time.

We may add, modify, or remove features over time. Material changes that adversely affect you will be communicated in accordance with section 14.

6. User Obligations

  • You must not use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  • You must not attempt to interfere with, disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems.
  • You are responsible for the content you upload, send, or share through the Service, and for ensuring you have the rights to do so.
  • You must comply with the terms of your connected email provider (such as Google or Microsoft) at all times.

7. Subscriptions and Billing

Inbox is offered on a subscription basis. Pricing, billing cycle, and trial terms are presented at signup. Payments are processed by Stripe under their terms. You may cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.

8. Data Privacy and Security

We apply industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, application-level encryption for sensitive content, and continuous vulnerability monitoring. Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes the data we collect, how we use it, the subprocessors we rely on, and your rights.

9. Data Processing Addendum

EU users: a Data Processing Addendum (DPA) is available on request via legal@alkmist.com.

10. Intellectual Property

  • All software, content, designs, trademarks, and other materials that make up the Service are the property of Alkmist or its licensors.
  • You retain ownership of the data you upload to or process through the Service. You grant Alkmist a limited, non-exclusive license to host, transmit, and process that data solely as needed to provide the Service to you.

11. Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alkmist is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • Our total aggregate liability under these Terms is limited to the fees you paid to Alkmist for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

12. Termination

  • We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that risks harm to other users, our partners, or our infrastructure.
  • You may terminate your account at any time from your account settings.
  • On termination, your access to the Service ends and your data is deleted in accordance with the retention timelines described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. The courts of Belgium have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service, except where mandatory consumer protection laws give you the right to bring a claim in your country of residence.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you by posting a notice in the Service or sending an email to the address associated with your account before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
